Week 13 – “The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions”

Quickly concluding their business in Graystone Falls (forging some items, buying/selling some items, etc), the group leaves in continuation of their quest.

Along the path to Fae’un they come across an Eleven corpse and are surprised… they decide to bring it with them as the ring fingers are cut off, indicating that this elf may be royalty. Del’anoth is uneasy with the idea and protests the decision to no avail.

Moving onward, the group finds a guard outpost, however all of the guards (elves to the last), are dead… torn open by seemingly the same sort of creature that killed the elf on the road. Their investigation leads to a jounal entry which seems to point towards the elf they found being some sort of prince. Del’anoth gets even more uncomfortable at this point and clearly has some issues with what’s going on. The group tells him he is overreacting and continues towards Fae’un.

Along the way, Brom begins having conversations, one on one, with several party members… and starts to spread the idea the Lynus is against them… and possibly even threatening to attack the party… is reasoning is unknown.

They are soon ambushed by a part of Were-beasts. The battle seems to be going as normal, however Strom, Lynus, and Gabriel are quickly bitten by the beasts. While Gabriel exhibits no odd behavior, Lynus quickly takes on a slightly Feral look, but continues attacking the enemy…. Out of nowhere, Strom turn on Lynus, calling out that “now more than ever, Lynus must be stopped”, and proceeds to cut the Warlock down, despite Gabriel’s attempts to keep him alive and Del’anoth’s admonishments.

In the course of the battle, Lynus stirs back to consciousness and flees the battle while no one is looking. Suffering a bite from one of the werewolves, and having just seen what happened to his comrade, Del’anoth also takes an opportunity as the battle dies down to disappear into the woods, fearing the worst if his bite is discovered.
